Research Interests | I have been conducting anthropological research among peoples who cultivate indigenous crops for their staple food in southwestern Ethiopia. I am also involved in a joint research project together with local people aimed at conservation of indigenous land races and utilization of community-based technologies from a standpoint of practical area studies. In this research project, I will study knowledge and institutions that contribute to conflict resolutions by focusing on conflicts over natural resources such as lands or forests, which often break out among the farmers, and between farmers and pastoralists in southwestern Ethiopia. |
